The Vacheron Constantin Mercator collection pays tribute to the renowned cartographer Gerardus Mercator. His most famous contribution, the Mercator projection, is a geographical map that flattens the spherical globe into a 2D map, using a grid of straight latitude and longitude lines to represent location. This limited edition of 30 watches featuring Hong Kong's iconic Aqua Luna red sail junk boat was created to commemorate the handover of Hong Kong to China in 1997. Together with all the accompanying accessories and bearing the number 2 as engraved to the band, the present timepiece not only marks an historic event but showcasing the mastery of Swiss fine watchmaking.
