One of the most iconic American jewelers of the twentieth century, Harry Winston, decided it was time to try something a little different back in 2001. Their young and daring CEO had an idea: what if Harry Winston partnered with brilliant watchmakers to make limited production watches that were just as mechanically innovative as they were aesthetically pleasing? And the Opus Series was born.
The Opus X was made in collaboration with watchmaker Jean-François Mojon. Inspired by planetary motion and featuring claws that create a bezel-less wide open look to better observe the mechanical movements taking place, the wristwatch is elevated to something more akin to modern art.
Only 100 pieces were made, and that is all we will ever see. Catch this one in the Important Watches Auction on 9 June during Luxury Week at
#SothebysNewYork, presented in partnership with silverseacruises. Visit our York Avenue galleries beginning 1 June to take a closer look.
