Named after the renowned Formula One driver, the Richard Mille RM011 ‘Felipe Massa’ boasts a fly-back chronograph and an annual date calendar, with the fly-back mechanism allowing the chronograph to reset without stopping.
The watch also has a countdown function, making it a reliable tool in the F1 environment, and the annual date calendar is displayed through oversized twin apertures located at 12 o'clock. RM011 adheres to the "machine on the wrist" concept, featuring non-slip ribbed and aerodynamic pushers, and a crown that resembles a smooth tyre.
It was released in 2007 and discontinued in 2016.
This watch, offered in the ‘Important Watches: Part I’ auction on 14 May, is highly regarded as the brand’s most successful chronograph. Visit the link in bio to view the catalogue, and the full exhibition is on view at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, until 6pm May 13.
