To commemorate the Dutch national football team for their unique achievements during the 2010 World Cup in South-Africa, a batch of 30 watches were commissioned. rolex was one of the suppliers who was – uniquely enough – willing to help in producing these celebratory pieces. They produced fifteen white gold Daytona 116519 (on a leather strap) and fifteen 116509 (on a white gold bracelet) featuring a black dial with an orange chronograph hand, sub dials and minute track – the national color of the Netherlands. They also featured dedications to the case backs for those lucky few to receive them. This Limited Edition Rolex Daytona 116509 was one of those 30, and will be presented in the Important Watches auction on 10 May.
