Unproduced and unpublished – here’s a never before seen alternative design for the #Nautilus hand painted by Gérald Genta in 1976. The design is similar to the original however offered the use of a strap rather than an integrated bracelet. Genta’s vision with this design was 30 years ahead of his time. PatekPhilippe did not introduce a Nautilus with leather strap, similar to this design, until 2006 with the 5711 and 5712 examples made to celebrate the 30 years anniversary. This original design, together with an accompanying NFT, will be offered in the second iteration of ‘Gérald Genta: Icon of Time’ in Hong Kong, bidding open next week.
