The Rolex Submariner “Explorer” 5513 pictured here is one of the rarest configurations available for the production of Submariner. While standard production for the Submariners are normally found fitted with a Triangular, rectangular and circular luminous plots on the dial to indicate the time, the Submariners Explorers are displayed with 3-6-9 luminous indexes instead and were said for better visibility while diving.
The featured watch with a charming gilt dial features a “Swiss” at 6 o’clock indicating that it was made toward the last generation of the gilt dial available and indicating that the dial is laminated with Tritium instead of Radium. Presented with a beautiful dial, matching “Pointed Crown Guard” case and correct “Long 5” bezel, this watch is an attractive example of the last available Explorers.
