Watch as he introduces two historical and highly important enamel miniatures by PatekPhilippe and VacheronConstatin, both made by the master enamellers of the last century, that will go under hammer in the Hong Kong Important Watches sale on 23 April. Consigned from an important private collection, these two pocket-sized masterpieces were painted by Marthe Bischoff and Helen May Mercier, respectively depicting in details a hunting scene inspired from the Old Master Paintings, and a serene landscape of Lake Geneva. The time-honoured art of miniature enamelling is difficult to master and requires a painstaking layered process of painting and re-firing.
