Patek Philippe’s Ref 2511 is unusual for a patekphilippe Calatrava: at 36.5mm, it is referred to as ‘oversized’, wearing large on the wrist due to its thin 8.8mm case design, smooth bezel and slim coin shaped ‘Empire’ case design and stripped parallel lugs. Produced for just four years with only 120 examples thought to have been made in yellow gold, this example from 1953 is accompanied by its certificate of origin and pin buckle in our Watches online auction, open 28 January - 5 February.
