This rare quarter repeating and quarter striking clock watch was made around 1820 by Johan Christian Friedrich Gutkaes. Clockmaker to the court of Saxony in Dresden, this master of horology passed his knowledge on to celebrated watchmaker and innovator Adolph Lange, who would later marry his daughter.
