“Who Dares Wins”: This Rolex “Monoblocco”, Reference 3525, circa 1946 formerly belonged to Tony O’Brien, a member of the British Special Air Service (SAS) who was involved in the efforts to escape from the prison that inspired the movie “The Great Escape” starring Steve McQueen. Highly sought-after by the Rolex collector community, this particular style of early Rolex Oyster chronographs is called "Monoblocco" or "one block” as the solid steel case including its bezel is made out of one solid piece of metal.
