LDN - Sitting comfortably? A rediscovery for you: this is French designer #MarcelCoard's previously unrecorded Gondola Canapé from c.1925, which is #OnView alongside #EmotionalOrder ahead of our #Design sale at the end of April. This sofa is identical to a piece previously in the fabled collection of couturier #JacquesDoucet - a piece that is now in the permanent collection of the vmfamuseum. Fun story: the sofa was discovered when it was taken to a small local furniture restorer in the Netherlands, who recognised Coard's name stamped on the underside of the piece, and looked it up.
