LDN - It is near impossible to do justice to the effect of #TaubaAuerbach's unique textural play without being in a room with the physical work, and nowhere is this more true than in this exceptional diptych 'Enfold/Fold (inner)/Enfold/Fold (outer)' from 2010. Physically folding and crumpling unstretched canvases, and then spray painting them from different angles, Auerbach finally stretches the canvas out again - creating this illusion of three dimensionality. In this rare work, the two canvases have been folded and sprayed together, one inside and one outside.
