#DanhVo hired a Shanghai fabricator to make a copy of Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi's iconic Statue of Liberty. Formed of 250 or so parts, Vo's Lady Liberty is made of thin sheets of hammered copper: but unlike the original, Vo has declared that his statue should never be assembled. Having seen five details of 'We the People' pass through Phillips over the last two years, Vo is an artist close to our hearts - so we are delighted to support his latest solo exhibition at the Museum Ludwig, Cologne. Seen here is the largest single piece of Vo's enormous masterwork - the armpit- in situ at the gallery.
#DanhVo's 'Ydob eht mraw si ti' runs until October 25 and is open to the public now.
