LDN - Watch your head: translating literally as 'candle-holder', the first known chandeliers came about in the 14th century - as two wooden beams in a cross formation with a spike at each end to hold a candle. It's fair to say that we've come a long way since the 1300s: this 3.6x1.7m chandelier is comprised of murano glass, LEDs, handmade woollen crochet and polyester, and comes complete with its own power supply unit. This labour of love - 'Kromiusa' - is hanging in the entrance of our gallery at #PhillipsBSQ as part of #JoanaVasconcelos' solo exhibition #MaterialGirl. Be sure to look (us) up. Open til 6 every day this week; runs until August 28.
