The last Copa America spot on the line. And what a proper atmosphere it was. If you closed your eyes you could’ve sworn you were in Tegucigalpa or San José. Honduras and Costa Rica both yearned for that coveted place in the world’s oldest continental competition, and this meeting in Texas was the final hurdle. Everyone at Toyota Stadium lived up to the occasion. Flags, banners, drums, trumpets, songs, and all those devoted fans made this one special. In the end, Costa Rica prevailed, but the Hondurans have nothing to be ashamed of. Their showing on the pitch and in the stands was valiant, and they made this match in Frisco one to remember. As for “Los Ticos,” they get to bask in the glory of making it to 2024’s biggest tournament on this side of the pond. Up next, though, they have a date with the world champions on Tuesday. At least they can breathe easy knowing they already got what they came for. They’re already booking their tickets for the summer. 📸: elisachavezphotography #l...
