#BUFeatureFriday: Marsh Plaza Representing the geographical center-most part of campus, Marsh Plaza serves as a gathering place for the BU community. For students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader community, it is the hub of the numerous activities on campus. The Free at Last sculpture in the center of the plaza honors BU alumnus Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who graduated from BU in 1955 with a Ph.D. in systematic theology Named for BU’s fourth president in 1949, the Plaza has since been a place to gather before and after events at the Chapel, to advance and to hear arguments, to parade and to protest, to propose marriage, to meet and to part, and even just to pass through on the way to class.
