Celebrations. That’s how the Washington home opener had everyone at Audi Field. It was a pretty historic occasion getting to host Bay FC too. More importantly, though, it was the chance to reconnect with those fellow troopers in the stands, our heroes on the pitch, and fully embrace the arrival of another season. Nothing beats that feeling at the start of the year. A long road ahead but full of possibilities. For the Spirit, it’s been a few years now since they tasted the ultimate glory, but who’s to say they can’t get back to it this year. They took the first step on Saturday with their first victory of the season. Last-minute winner included and all.
