They have made a $300,000 commitment to Alaska Nanooks athletics to design and to begin construction of a World Class Ski Trail loop right here on UAF’s campus. The project includes a new groomer and the development of a sprint course with a 2.5k extension that will open up recruiting, training, competition, and community recreation opportunities well into the future. With community support, the project can see added benefits such as lighting, fixtures, and future trail expansion. On Giving Day, when 49 donors support the World Class Ski Trails project at UAF, Usibelli Coal Mine will unlock a $50,000 gift towards the development of a world-class trail system for cross-country skiing on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.
