Pho has a very distinct aromatic taste because it’s cooked with star anise, cinnamon, cloves, etc. very fragrant spices. The thin sliced meat is also plain/not seasoned and is cooked into the scalding hot broth upon contact. YES ITS KINDA RAW but it cooks off. That’s what pho is. You also have the option to add sauces and toppings to it like sriracha and oyster sauce plus basil leaves, limes, bean sprouts, cilantro, and Serrano peppers.
