Cinematographer Steven Meizler shares a
#R3Dsnapshot from Netflix's The Queen's Gambit.
“In Mr. Shaibel’s basement office, we see the bare bulb in the shot. I enjoyed how the (Zeiss) Supremes reacted—I could shoot directly into that bright bulb. It was the main source of light. I had some additional lights in the background to lighten the shadows, but the actors were essentially lit with that one light bulb. … I was amazed by the latitude of the (RED) camera and surprised that it didn’t just blow out; you could even see the definition of the tip of the bulb. I would give that credit to the MONSTRO sensor.” (from an interview with Film & Digital Times FDtimes)
