This shot is taken from the interview with Hatice Cengiz, the fiancée of Jamal Khashoggi. It was near the end of a three-hour interview, gut-wrenching in many instances as Hatice recounted the events leading up to the murder of Jamal in the Saudi Embassy on October 2, 2018, in Istanbul. I’ll always remember the smile she made when she showed us the ring that Jamal bought for their engagement. Her eyes glazed with tears, it was a look that lasted only a few seconds.
