'Oil In The Blood’ is a feature length documentary about custom motorcycles, featuring custom bike builders from all over the world. Creating solutions that enabled the bikes to be captured was the biggest challenge. DOP joshallen_director shares how they did it. ⁣ ⁣ "I had full camera control from the back of the bike with the movi controller and a monitor mounted in front of me so I could see everything that was going on. Using a bike with a sidecar to film so that we could keep a low physical profile was critical not only for efficiency and safety but also so we didn’t cast a huge shadow over the bikes and plunge them into darkness, as a large tracking vehicle would do. The RED #SCARLETW being lightweight and small provided a perfect solution, not to mention the ability to shoot high frame rates and everything else RED brings to the table.
