The look of the episode was interspersed with a couple of sequences shot, and double exposed, on 35mm 3 perf Vision 3 500T film. The double exposure was intended to suggest the impressionistic nature of memories. The technique could have been simulated in post but we wanted the happy accidents you get when shooting film. Tom Harper is a very bold visual artist and he really pushed for this.
