We favoured a naturalistic, practically motivated approach to the lighting. Overcast English skies motivating soft oppressive top light and sodium street lighting bringing a dirty richness to the night work. Lite Gear Lite Mats and Arri Sky Panels were our go to units on set, whilst Half and Full Wendy lights and Helium Balloons were used for night exteriors. One of the most challenging aspects was matching blue screen train interiors to those already shot in a moving carriage on location. A combination of M90’s bounced into wind bags, 2 rows of Sky Panels chasing down the length of the train and the occasional flash of a 20k as the sun poked through the trees did the job.
