TimLaman takeover [6/8] telling the story of the BBC #PlanetEarth2 shoot in the remote islands of West Papua, Indonesia. Objective: filming the elusive Red Bird-of-Paradise from the top of the rain forest canopy. Here is the view from in my blind as it gets light. I never new exactly when the #birds would suddenly show up on their perches, so being able to keep my #REDEPIC fired up in 4 sec pre-record mode was awesome. I never missed a bird arriving on the scene. Also, being able to film in high-speed was absolutely key to slow down the fast movements of these birds to “human speed”. #Indonesia #PlanetEarth2 #BirdDay
