TimLaman takeover [4/8] telling the story of the BBC #PlanetEarth2 shoot in the remote islands of West Papua, Indonesia. Objective: filming the elusive Red Bird-of-Paradise from the top of the rain forest canopy. The key for filming the #birds was not to be seen. This meant getting out there from our camp, and up in the tree hidden in my blind before it got light. This required getting up at 3 AM, and making a drive, then hike, then tree climb in the dark, hauling up the camera on a rope, and getting set up before dawn broke. Here as it starts to get light, I can actually begin to see the bare branches in the center, which are the display sites of the elusive Red Bird-of-Paradise.
