TimLaman takeover [2/8] telling the story of the BBC #PlanetEarth2 shoot in the remote islands of West Papua, Indonesia. Objective: filming the elusive Red Bird-of-Paradise from the top of the rain forest canopy. We needed a lot of gear to pull off this shoot and it all had to make it on five plane flights, multiple vehicles, a boat trip to the island, and then carried by porters. Besides the cameras, lenses, and tripods, key gear included the tree climbing equipment, camping gear, and food.
