TimLaman takeover [1/8] telling the story of the BBC #PlanetEarth2 shoot in the remote islands of West Papua, Indonesia. Objective: filming the elusive Red Bird-of-Paradise from the top of the rain forest canopy. In pursuit of the bird known as the Red Bird-of-Paradise, we literally had to travel to the opposite side of the earth to an island paradise. But the birds didn’t meet us on the beach. They only display high in the rain forest canopy. Finding display trees, and getting in position for filming was a challenge that took over a week of scouting.
