Full Moon Paddle went out Friday during the longest lunar eclipse of the century! This is what one of our trip leaders had to say about the experience: "I led my first trip with fsuoutdoorpursuits this weekend. We paddled canoes down the Wacissa River backlit by a neon sunset and let the light of a silver full moon lead us home. We heard the choirs of crickets and frogs and the plucky tune of banjo strings carried across the water. Normally, when I venture into nature, it’s a solitary experience. I hear the single crunch of my own footsteps overwhelmed by a vast, lonely silence. But this time, I experienced the joy of seeing other people in awe. I love the solitude of nature. I love the silence and the clarity and the emptiness. But at a certain point, those of us who love the outdoors have the obligation to bring people out there with us and to sacrifice our solitude to get people invested in the cause of preserving places - and moments - like these.
