Earlier this year for the vivo #RioPro we teamed up with corona and WSL PURE grantee surfconservation, a collaboration between conservationorg savethewavescoalition, alongside Brazilian partners aprenderecologia and ci_brasil 🇧🇷. Impacts from the local impact project and grant include: ♻️ 1.5 tons of plastic removed from rivers and upcycled into fins 📚 1,150 people educated on of the importance of protecting surf ecosystems 🤝 200 people, engaged in ecobarrier and cleanup activations 🌎 10 people employed to install, monitor and clean the ecobarrier 🌊 10 organizations engaged 💙 1 Brazilian Surf Reserve Program advanced, to protect Brazil’s outstanding waves and surrounding ecosystems We are excited to return to Brazil next year for the 2024 season! #WSLOneOcean #SpeakUpForTheOcean #throwbackthursday
