Portugal based organization @regeneration.surf represents a coalition of partners with a shared mission: to regenerate the ocean by engaging in citizen science with ocean lovers. Working across ocean literacy education, scientific research, ecosystem restoration and community engagement, our impacts from the @wslpure grant last year include: 🌿 8000 kelp plants seeded and planted 🌊 750 pieces of green gravel deployed near Supertubos 🌍 Integration into the UN Ocean Conference 🔬Offered engaging lab sessions promoting citizen science and kelp seeding 🤝 Led stakeholder workshops bringing together leaders in Peniche for a regenerative future 🌊 Provided ocean education sessions to youth leaders through the Blue School 🌱 Built a brand new kelp nursery that will greatly increase production capacity to 32,000 kelp pebbles.
