Collaboration is key for surf conservation. WSL PURE grantee and #WeAreOneOcean coalition partner Surf Conservation Partnership @surfconservation, is working in Indonesia with @konservasi_ind and @btn_alaspurwo to protect the surf ecosystem surrounding G-Land and Alas Purwo National Park. Together, we are addressing conservation needs both on land and in the water. Our impacts through the @wslpure grant include: 👀 Monitoring the environment for threats 🌱 Planting native trees along the coast 🌳 Protecting mangroves as a key part of the ecosystem 💡 Upcycling plastic pollution into valuable products 🔎 Empowering local students to be conservation leaders, and 🗣️ Engaging local communities in conversations about sustainability. In May 2022, @wsl held the Quiksilver/ROXY Pro G-Land and highlighted the work of the Surf Conservation Partnership and local partners, who led conservation activities in the area supported by WSL Championship Tour surfers.
