Happy #WorldMangroveDay! 🌱 Mangrove ecosystems are crucial to our fight against climate change because they pull massive amounts of greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere. WSL is committed to reducing our climate impacts by offsetting carbon emissions from all our operations, and investments in mangrove restoration projects are one way we achieve this. In 2021, WSL supported @conservationorg’s Vida Manglar project in South America, the world's first blue carbon project to enter the market with its carbon stores fully valued. The project is based in Colombia and will reduce approximately one million tons of carbon dioxide emissions over 30 years by conserving and sustainably managing coastal mangrove ecosystems, marshes, and associated streams!
