The International Coastal Cleanup began more than 30 years ago, typically falling on the third Saturday of September, when organizations, businesses and individuals rally together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering the coastline. While this year has presented challenges to hosting large public cleanups, volunteers have been activating all month with solo sessions for #CoastalCleanupMonth. . One of the most common items found littering our beaches are cigarette butts!
