It is a beautiful Summer day in the Land of Love but there is Snow in the forecast. Snow Drop that is! Snow Drop Köttbusser Ale is a historical beer style that was brewed in Cottbus Germany. Cottbus is in the Brandenburg region of Germany sitting right on the Polish border. In 1877 the style was outlawed by the German purity law that limited beer ingredients to only barley, hops, yeast, and water. Brewed with wheat, oats, honey, and a touch of molasses (in addition to the “accepted” ingredients) Snow Drop presents aromas of wheat, oats noble hops and floral honey. On the palate, light grain, earthy hops, and a kiss of sweetness finishing dry and crisp with a smackerel of honey. This beer has won two medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Historical category. Come down to the Taproom and Robin will pour you a Snow Drop or other
