Charles the Great, our German-Belgo Blonde ale, introduces itself with aromas of lightly sweet pilsner malt and mild earthy hops. Charles the Great, also known as Charlemagne, was coronated as Emperor by Pope Leo III at Christmas in the year 800. He ruled over the Carolingian Empire which combined cultures from both Germany and Belgium.
