Today’s release in our 10 Years - 10 Beers series is Bourbon Barrel Aged Old Brown Shoe. This English Old Ale is a Pro-Am Brew that we did with Gerry Lynch. It is named after a Beatles tune that Gerry was listening to as he brewed the award winning Homebrew batch. Aged in Family Jones Whiskey barrels, this 9.7% ABV beer hits the nose with brown sugar, dark dried fruit, bourbon, and vanilla notes. On the palate it is smooth and rich with flavors of molasses, prune, brown sugar and bourbon/vanilla. We released this last year on our 9th Anniversary and decided to hang on to a couple of kegs to let it age for GrimmTEN.
