Movement, unchained: The trailblazing dancer and choreographer Aditi Mangaldas parses the techniques of kathak (a form of Indian classical dance) to create a vocabulary that is contemporary, and uniquely her own. In the captivating dance production FORBIDDEN, Mangaldas presented a powerful solo performance that interrogated the “taboo” of female desire and sexuality. Bold and evocative, the work showed exactly how and why she is one of the world’s leading dance figures.
