The verses of Persian poetry have historically been inseparable from music. The writings of Sufi mystics such as Attar of Nishapur, Rumi and Hafez have formed the lyrical basis of many classical Persian music compositions. Vocalists such as Sepideh Raissadat take a central role in music ensembles as an interpreter of lyrics.
