I wrote Alkesah in 2017, a year that I did a lot of traveling. Parts of it were inspired by my solo travels to London, where I watched a fantastic musical The Book of Mormon and parts of Alkesah were written during my stay with the good people of La Mama, Italy. Most parts though, were written in Singapore, either in the office of Teater Ekamatra or under my void deck in Serangoon.
