#IGTakeover This is my final "walkabout" today. Whenever I can, I will make time to get out of the office to walk the grounds. My colleagues say I’m like a bird, bobbing and swivelling around observing everything around me. I like to know and "feel" what is happening at this place I’ve called home for 20 years. I often stop by these figures at our waterfront, a work by Lim Soon Ngee called Makan Angin ("jiak hong" in Hokkien, literally meaning "eating wind"). My parents used to take me and my sisters for walks along the old Esplanade Park where we came to eat wind. We couldn’t afford much else so this simple pleasure that cost nothing meant everything to a young boy. Today, I say goodbye to this family and to my Esplanade family. It has been a very rewarding and meaningful journey filled with amazing people and moving experiences.
