Symphonic Suite on a Set of Local Tunes (the full name of the piece) was commissioned by the National Trades Union Congress for the Singapore Symphony Orchestra's May Day performance at the #Esplanade Concert Hall in 2004. Since that premiere 11 years ago by the SSO, Symphonic Suite has been to Italy, Germany, and Thailand, and has been performed by orchestras such as the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra, and our very own Singapore National Youth Orchest...
