T A K E O V E R The basic infrastructure of the festival consist of various stages. I wanted to have them to accommodate a diverse range of music. So, we give these stages cool names to differentiate them. We also needed different flavor throughout. First year, we tried to end of each night of the festival with DJs to give it a night dance party.  The following year, we tried to put some acts in the concourse of the esplanade. And then we also introduced observation deck at the library. Where we can have a 30min up close time interviewing the bands and so on.  To top it off, I have always wanted a village in the centre of all the sound because I know that's where people will meet the bands, buy some merch and chit chat.  That's why that year 2004, I wanted the posters to open up like a map as well so that people can know where these stages are and also small enough to tuck it at the back pocket. - johnchiong #baybeats #baybeats2015 #baybeatsmixtape #sg50
