I had a great time at Fight to Win on Friday. I had a decent performance but ultimately came up short. The match went the distance and I lost a close split decision. I had a few close submission attempts that my opponent escaped and vice versa. Obviously I’m not happy with the result, especially because I thought I did enough to win, but it was a close match against a solid opponent so I can’t complain. There were 34 matches that night and my opponent and I won the Fight of the Night honors, so I am proud that we were able to put on an entertaining match regardless of the outcome.
I have a few things I’ll change moving forward like more positional awareness and taking my time, but I am never going to stop being an offense first grappler — I have and will continue to always look for the finish and be entertaining as hell!
Thanks f2wbjj for having me on the show. I look forward to competing for you guys again. And thanks to holdsworthmma for cornering/coaching me through this match!
