Today Vera turns 6 months old and we're amazed at how quickly time has flown and how much she has grown! Although she is still very small, her noble, kind character is so easily perceived. She smiles at everyone she talks to, she never complains unless she is really bothered by something, and she is always so happy every morning she wakes up that she nearly jumps out of her crib (soon this really will happen, I swear!). I wish she understood how much joy she's brought us in this time. We started this journey like a lot of parents, unsure of what or how we would be after she was born. And yet, since her first scream we have not stopped smiling - that moment really is magical. If we are something now, it is dependent on Vera - it sounds odd, I know - but our happiness depends on her happiness. And for that, her smile and state of mind are our first thought every day.
