I’ve been asked, “how did you did it? how did you run all those miles?” Which, understandably so, is a reasonable question to ask someone who just ran across the state of Minnesota.
Some might say that my training allowed for it. The truth is though, my body gave out on me countless times. My legs and back ached, ankles swelled, and feet collected blisters with pride. My physical condition began to deplete the moment we left Fargo.
So what then? What carried me through? Well my heart & spirit had no moment of being less than full. Each aid station I was greeted with smiles and a fist bump coupled with words like “I love you Mark. Keep going!”
Every possible need was cared for. Our team had tidal waves of support rolling through in glimpses along the route. These were our well timed wellness warriors, bringing with them resources, donations, smiles, and miles.
