The greatest gift this experience gave me is on how to move forward with love at the center. It’s deconstructed prior beliefs I had on what’s important in my life and what exactly I’m aiming for.
I’ve had many conversations since this weekend took place. It gets emotional every time. People are eager to hear Laurie’s story. They want to know who she was and what her legacy of love is. They want to know about Blake and John, and how the entire Weber family is doing. They ask about Andrew and the insane courage he had during that long night down County HWY 61. Simply put, I get to talk about a group of people that I love.
I’m still learning from this, and each day provides a more clear picture for what’s ahead. It points to a future that involves more moments like this with people that matter most. One that brings a community together not just through loving to run but running to love.
