When we decided to postpone our original wedding, I also made the decision to save the wedding dress I had planned to wear. Not only was it not ready in time for our elopement, but, for sentimental and personal reasons I wanted to wear my white gown when I could walk down the aisle with my father as a bride. It felt symbolic to declare our love amongst family and friends and save that moment- one I have dreamt of - for our sequel wedding experience next year.
With 3 weeks to pull together my wardrobe I knew I would have to be open minded to what was available in the short period of time I had. Wearing vintage was something that was important to me and like a good stylist I went out to my network of resources. I knew I wanted to wear a color, ideally something that would look beautiful at sunset, and I knew it needed to be an airy tulle or chiffon so that it could catch the wind, and most importantly it needed to be something that wouldn’t feel out of place on a beach!
