Gillan and the Browns (5-3) lost at home to the Las Vegas Raiders 16-6, while Armstead and the Saints won at the Chicago Bears 26-23 in overtime. Despite chilly, windy conditions in Cleveland, Gillan was unphased, as he averaged 54.5 yards on two punts in the contest. Gillan drilled a 59-yard punt in the second quarter, and connected on a 50-yard punt in the third quarter. The game was tied at 6-6 after three quarters before Las Vegas scored 10 unanswered points in the final period to seal the win.
