Jalen Steward, one of the top defensive end in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, has been very effective at making sure opposing quarterbacks spend a lot of time on the turf. Steward leadership got the defense fired up during game day, and his work ethic set the tone for a hungry defense unit that will be ready to get back on the playing surface.   He was a three-year starter and four-year letterman recording nearly 200 tackles, 15.0 sacks, and 42.5 tackles for loss during his career. The Memphis, Tennessee native, led the conference in tackle for loss with 16.5 and 10th in the conference in tackles with 10 his senior year.  Steward was named First-team preseason All-SWAC; 1st-team All-SWAC, and selected for participation in the NFL HBCU Combine
